Description:
- Authorized by the Chief of Staff, U.S. Air Force, April 3, 1976.
- Awarded to honor graduates of BMT who, after July 29, 1976, demonstrate excellence in all phases of academic and military training and limited to the top 10 percent of the training flight.
- Specific requirements for honor graduates are established and published by basic military training and approved by Headquarters Air Education and Training Command.
- Members are only presented a ribbon upon initial award. There are no subsequent awards.
Background:
- The USAF BMT Honor Graduate Ribbon was designed by the Institute of Heraldry, and is awarded to basic training graduates only.
- The ribbon has a wide center stripe of ultramarine blue flanked with equal stripes of yellow, brittany blue and white on either side.
