Description:
- The ribbon was authorized by CSAF on 12 October 1980.
- On 16 November 2020, the Secretary of the Air Force approved the renaming of the Air Force Training Ribbon to the Air and Space Training Ribbon.
- The ribbon is awarded to Air Force members on completion of initial accession training after 14 August 1974. In December 1986, the criteria expanded and authorized the ribbon to anyone who was on active duty in December 1986, regardless of when they completed initial accession training.
- On or after 20 December 2019, the ribbon may be awarded to Space Force members.
- Restriction. Completion of technical training, career developmental courses, and the other Military Services’ basic training accession programs do not qualify for the ribbon.
- Authorized Device. Oak Leaf Cluster.
